England's Bowling Consultant Tim Southee Unsure on The Ashes Availability
Tim Southee's most recent Test match for New Zealand was against the English side in the final month of 2024.
England's bowling consultant Tim Southee is still working through the extent of his role will be during the upcoming Ashes series in the host nation.
The ex- Kiwi seamer is expected to be available for the first Test due to his participation in the International League T20 competition, which starts on 2 December in the United Arab Emirates.
The 36-year-old, 36, took up a position as England's fast bowling consultant in the summer after taking 391 scalps in 107 Tests for the Kiwis.
Commenting as the English team for the first of three Twenty20 games against New Zealand was named, he stated of his participation: "We are still evaluating the situation at the moment.
"We will determine what happens over the next little while."
English bowling legend Broad had stated the Australia side as their "weakest squad since 2010", but Southee was in little doubt over what to expect during the series, which begins on November 21.
"In my view there's ever a poor Aussie side," he said.
"The team's attention is squarely on what we're trying to do. In my opinion the caliber of [the English] side that's heading out to Australia is brilliant.
"It should be an absolute cracker, that series. Not just [are|do] fans from both nations looking forward to it, I think the whole cricket world is."
However, prior to the English team head to Perth for the first Ashes match, they take on New Zealand in the city of Christchurch on this Saturday.
